This option will take some work but you should have decent results. Take the parts with the larger pixels on your sprite and edit them to where they're no longer twice as big as the Black Devil portion. There's basically two things you could do here to fix this. I don't think you really understand what you're doing wrong with this Final Devil Sigma of yours.Īs it stands you've taken a regular sigma sprite, greatly increased its size, and overlayed a portion of the Black Devil's body over the torso.īy doing this you've mixed regularly sized pixels with pixels that are much larger, and this is a no no. What is there, however, is very good material to learn from. I'd recommend checking out the Spriter's Resource's Spriting Dictionary although unfortunately some of the images are broken. Everyone has to start somewhere and it's how you learn. These types of problems are faced by a lot of starting spriters so don't feel discouraged if your first sprite isn't your best. Style mixing parts doesn't work for the most part because you can tell the new parts don't 'belong.' While it can be done you have to put in some time and effort to change the part to make it more appropriate for the style. There's different body proportions (Compare X1 to the Zero series), different light sources, some have outlines others don't, and much more.

Each game has a different set of rules that defines the style. While you seem to have taken sprites completely from Megaman games the style of each game varies from the others drastically. Also notice how the body looks very fuzzy and jagged. Notice how Sigma's head has a completely different pixel-ratio compared to the rest of his body. Your sprite needs to have a consistent pixel size. Both are considered shoddy work and look bad in general because there's no sense of cohesion. When you resize a sprite using the transform tool in a program you'll find the pixels become stretched, unclear, or both. Sprites are made up of and defined by pixels, the smallest unit a computer can display. So Final Devil Sigma faces two major problems. But you should know that it follows a lot of mistakes that beginners make, so you're in good company as a starting spriter. I'm afraid I need to be brutally honest with you about your first sprite.
